How you can help
If you'd like to help Furnishing Futures please read the FAQ below and get in touch as described.
If you have any other queries, do please use the contact form below, giving as much information as possible to help us prioritise our resources.
DONATING FURNITURE
How can I donate furniture?
If you are a brand, designer or stylist and you would like to donate furnishings please email us at donate@furnishingfutures.org with details of what you would like to donate and we would be delighted to talk to you about your donation. Please include photographs and dimensions, quantities and links to products where possible.
WHITE GOODS
We are looking for a brand partnership with a company who could donate good quality new white goods, so if this is you please get in touch.
If you are a member of the public and have items you would like to donate please email us at donate@furnishingfutures.org with clear photographs and dimensions of the items. We do not always have the storage space to accept donations so please check with us first.
Do you collect donations or where do I drop them off?
Wherever possible, donations need to be dropped off to our warehouse in East London. We can sometimes collect within London when we have a family in particular need of your item of furniture but this costs us a lot of money, so wherever possible we ask for donations to be dropped off to us once we have confirmed we can take the items.
We cannot receive unsolicited donations, if you are a brand or designer or someone who may have stock to donate, we will talk to you about how best to organise logistics with our partners.
What furniture do you accept?
We work primarily with the interiors industry to repurpose good quality furnishings and homewares such as returns, seconds, excess stock, ex-dosplay or showroom stock or props from shoots, film and television.
Donated items need to be in excellent or 'as new' condition, and suitable for use in families' homes. This is because we believe that the families we support deserve to have nice things, and good quality furnishings raise self esteem. It also costs us money to mend or dispose of unsuitable items.
Please note that some conditions apply:
We can only accept upholstered items that still have the fire tags attached due to fire regulations.
We can only accept items that do not have stains, marks, rips or scratches on them.
We cannot accept used mattresses.
We cannot accept anything broken or with missing parts - please carefully check items before donating.
We do not take toys, clothing, books or used kitchen items and white goods at this time.
We do welcome good quality donations of furniture where we have the space to store them. This includes larger items of furniture as well as accessories, artwork and soft furnishings.
DONATING TIME OR MONEY
I would like to give my skills and time to support families in need. How do I volunteer?
We are always delighted to hear from you if you would like to volunteer for us. As a small, new charity we particularly welcome applications from volunteers who have skills or experience that we need such as tradespeople who can paint, decorate or help with homes; volunteers with fund raising, legal or accounting skills; photographers, event organisers, marketing professionals and so on.
Please email us at volunteer@furnishingfutures.org for a registration form and we will keep your details on file.
I would like to make a monetary donation or discuss corporate sponsorship.
Running Furnishing Futures costs a lot of money due to the cost of storage and logistics. We rely on donations, grants and other fund raising to be able to support the families we serve.
You can donate directly via the JustGiving web site here or please contact us at donate@furnishingfutures.org to discuss major donations, grants, trusts or sponsorship.
Are you a registered charity?
Furnishing Futures is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (charity no 1196498).
Help for families in need
Who do you support?

Can I make a referral?

We are not able to take referrals from other organisations or individuals at this stage, sorry.
