Furnishing Futures provides a full redesign and refurbishment service for women’s refuge providers in London, transforming what can be soulless institutionalised buildings into warm, welcoming and safe spaces for survivors and their children through the power of trauma-informed design.
Furnishing Futures is uniquely placed to provide interior design services to the domestic abuse sector due to our model of combining social work with interior design. Our projects create safe, secure and homely spaces that support vulnerable women and children’s recovery and help them transition to moving on accommodation.
Completed projects include the transformation of the communal living spaces in three women’s refuges for Solace Women’s Aid in collaboration with Clare Gaskin Studio and the transformation of a seven-bedroom refuge for Kiran Support Services in collaboration with Studio Fortnum, Laura Hammett and House Nine Design.
